The residents' tranquil atmosphere and kind nature are what draw me back time and again; in fact, I've been there three times now. My first experience was at the holy festival of Pushkar Camel Fair, and my most recent visit was in August, during the monsoon's "offseason."

Even though it is known as a sacred "city," it is rather urban. This presents an amazing opportunity to experience village life and to meet some of the "genuine" people who live in Rajasthan.
